Job Title: AI Platform Architect

Industry: Biotechnology / Life Sciences

Location: Alameda, CA

Assignment Type: 6-month contract with potential for extension and/or conversion

Pay: $115-$135/hour

Work Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced AI Platform Architect to design, implement, and scale enterprise AI solutions across cloud and data ecosystems. This role will drive the adoption of Generative AI technologies, establish AI governance standards, and support the deployment of secure, scalable AI capabilities in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

โ€ข Architect and enhance enterprise AI platforms leveraging AWS, Databricks, and enterprise LLM technologies

โ€ข Design and implement Generative AI solutions including RAG pipelines, vector databases, and AI agents

โ€ข Establish best practices for AI security, governance, and observability

โ€ข Evaluate emerging AI technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives through production deployment

โ€ข Partner cross-functionally with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to drive AI adoption

โ€ข Create reusable frameworks, standards, and reference architectures for enterprise AI solutions

Qualifications:

โ€ข 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, enterprise architecture, or data platforms

โ€ข Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Databricks, and enterprise LLM platforms such as Claude or OpenAI

โ€ข Experience building Generative AI applications utilizing RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and agent frameworks

โ€ข Strong understanding of secure and scalable AI deployment in enterprise environments

Additional Details:

โ€ข Experience within biotech, pharma, or healthcare environments is preferred

โ€ข Knowledge of GxP, HIPAA, or other regulated frameworks is a plus

โ€ข Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or AI observability tools is highly desirable

โ€ข The ideal candidate thinks like an architect and executes like an engineer, with a passion for emerging AI technologies and rapid experimentation
