Job description

My client is one of the most active venture capital law practices on the planet. It's a top-ranked practice in VC, PE, and M&A deal volume and has handled over 2,100 financings totaling more than $80 billion in the last three years alone.

This is an opportunity to join a growing practice to work alongside a group recognized as a market leader with deep connections throughout the VC and start-up communities. They have personally led hundreds of financings and billions of dollars in transactions.

This group is made up of Partners and Associates who came up through the premier Bay Area ECVC platforms and are now seeking entrepreneurial-minded attorneys to build something bigger. The team is seeking associates who are hungry to learn from the industry's best attorneys, want a seat on a rocket ship, and are ready to grow with the team.

The work:

You'll advise technology, life sciences, and healthcare companies across the full corporate lifecycle — seed-stage formations, Series A through late-stage venture financings, M&A, IPOs, and securities compliance. The client base spans biotech, AI, therapeutics, digital health, climate tech, medtech, cybersecurity, and enterprise software. The deals are real, the stakes are high, and the companies you'll work with are shaping industries.

What this takes:

This seat requires someone who is intellectually sharp, operationally reliable, and genuinely hungry to grow into an elite ECVC lawyer. You should be comfortable running deal workstreams, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing due diligence, and interfacing directly with founders, executives, and investors. You should be confident and have a record of execution.

The details:

  • Locations: Bay Area, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, or San Diego
  • Base salary: $235,000–$435,000
  • Annual bonus: $30,000–$115,000 (based on seniority)
  • Billable requirement: 1,950 hours
  • Global AmLaw platform with 1,000+ corporate lawyers worldwide and a 200+ lawyer ECVC practice

Ideal candidate:

3–7 years of substantive emerging growth and venture capital experience at a top-tier law firm. California bar required or obtainable. Exposure to life sciences or healthcare transactions is a plus, but not required.

If you're an ECVC associate who wants to work alongside one of the top venture capital partners in the country, on a platform that gives you access to every type of deal at every stage, this is the opportunity.
