GENERAL JOB INFORMATION
JOB TITLE: Service Technician Level 1
DEPARTMENT / UNIT: Technical Services
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Service Technicians Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
Assist the Service Technician, Senior Service Technician, and Supervisor in installation tasks, service, customer call handling, and equipment repair, with the objective of providing the highest quality service to our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  2. Assist Service Technicians, Senior Service Technicians, and the Supervisor with equipment installations and repairs.
  3. Calibrate and certify equipment.
  4. Maintain control and tracking of equipment received in the workshop for repair.
  5. Communicate with customers to obtain information regarding equipment issues.
  6. Provide first-level support for services conducted over the phone.
  7. Prepare and submit a daily report to the immediate supervisor detailing diagnostics and services performed.
  8. Document, generate reports, and close service calls in Salesforce.
  9. Continuously study and review equipment manuals to enhance technical knowledge.
  10. Participate in required training sessions, take notes, study materials, and achieve the required level of proficiency to deliver expected service quality.
  11. Ensure all customer interactions are professional, courteous, and helpful at all times.
  12. Consistently comply with departmental standards for quality, timeliness, responsiveness, and execution.
  13. Strictly follow equipment decontamination procedures and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
  14. Transport equipment to and from the warehouse, Technical Services, showroom, conference rooms, training rooms, client locations, and other designated areas as needed.
  15. Actively contribute to maintaining the company’s mission and achieving its vision; demonstrate through performance and behavior the company’s efficiency culture, values, and commitment to high-quality internal and external customer service.

INCIDENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete requisitions indicating necessary parts and tools for service; dispatch them if required.
  2. Maintain the repair workshop organized, including proper labeling and organization of equipment in the Technical Services storage area.
  3. Monitor equipment performance using remote monitoring programs.
  4. Stay informed about updates and changes to all equipment distributed by the company.
  5. Attend meetings, training activities, professional development events, conventions, and training sessions as required.
  6. Perform installation and removal of equipment inside and outside company facilities for meetings, training sessions, and conventions as assigned.
  7. Perform other duties as needed.

EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or
  2. Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Repair or equivalent.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service and at least one (1) year performing duties similar to those of a Service Technician.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license and passport.

Asistir al Técnico(a) de Servicio, Técnico(a) Sénior de Servicio y al Supervisor(a) en tareas de instalación, servicio, manejo de llamadas con el cliente y reparación de equipos, con el objetivo de brindar un servicio de la más alta calidad a nuestros clientes.


DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES ESENCIALES DEL PUESTO

  1. Llevar a cabo diagnósticos, reparaciones y mantenimiento preventivo de equipos de laboratorio.
  2. Asistir a los Técnicos(as) de Servicio, Técnicos(as) Sénior de Servicio y al Supervisor(a) en la instalación y reparación de equipos.
  3. Calibrar y certificar equipos.
  4. Mantener control de los equipos recibidos en el taller para reparación.
  5. Comunicarse con el cliente para obtener información sobre el problema del equipo.
  6. Brindar apoyo de primera línea en servicios realizados por teléfono.
  7. Preparar y someter al supervisor inmediato un informe diario sobre diagnósticos y servicios realizados.
  8. Documentar, generar reportes y cerrar llamadas en Salesforce de los servicios atendidos.
  9. Estudiar y revisar constantemente los manuales de los equipos con el fin de capacitarse.
  10. Participar en los adiestramientos requeridos, tomar notas, estudiar el material y alcanzar el nivel de dominio necesario para brindar un servicio de calidad.
  11. Asegurar que todas las interacciones con clientes sean profesionales, amables y serviciales.
  12. Cumplir de manera consistente con los parámetros de calidad, tiempo de respuesta y ejecución establecidos por el departamento.
  13. Cumplir con los procedimientos de descontaminación de equipos y con las normas de salud y seguridad.
  14. Transportar equipos desde y hacia el almacén, Servicios Técnicos, salón de exhibiciones, salas de conferencias, salas de adiestramiento, clientes, entre otros.
