Job description

Why Join Rincon Research Corporation (RRC)?

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security.

Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee owned company, is seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.

Come join the team that is creating cutting edge signal processing and geolocation systems for the future!

What are the primary responsibilities in the Multi-Discipline Engineer position?

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from early concept and architecture through implementation, integration, testing, and field deployment. Engineers in this role work on real systemsโ€”not just componentsโ€”and see their work deployed in operational environments.

You will work across a wide range of technologies and platforms including:

  • Embedded systems
  • FPGA and firmware development
  • CPU/GPU architectures
  • RF and antenna systems
  • Digital signal processing solutions
  • Fully integrated hardware/software systems

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-focused engineering solutions while collaborating with a team of talented engineers across multiple disciplines.

Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop integrated hardware and software systems, including embedded firmware and digital signal processing solutions.
  • Participate in system architecture, requirements development, and interface design.
  • Implement and integrate solutions across embedded processors, FPGA platforms, and RF systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans and validation procedures to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-performance mission systems.
  • Document system designs, performance analyses, and test results.
  • Contribute to innovation, prototyping, and new product development initiatives.

What required background will make you successful?

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, Assembly, VHDL, or Verilog
  • Familiarity with microprocessors, microcontrollers, SoCs, and/or FPGA-based system design
  • Understanding of hardware and software design principles and industry best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and presenting technical work
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate complex codebases and system architectures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

  • 2+ years of experience with C, C++, Assembly, VHDL, or Verilog
  • Experience with embedded Linux
  • Experience with Python, shell scripting, or other high-level languages
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Background in digital signal processing or communications systems
  • Experience with PCB layout and schematic capture
  • Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, etc.)
  • Experience with field testing of integrated hardware/software systems

Where is the position located?

This position can be located in any of our locations to include our Tucson, AZ Headquarters; Centennial, CO; Colorado Springs, CO; Chantilly, VA; and Palm Bay FL offices.
