Job description
Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.
Description
Emory University School of Medicine (SOM) invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology. Exceptional applicants for other ranks (Associate or Full Professor) will also be considered. Beginning immediately, we are seeking investigators who will develop innovative and vigorous research programs in the broad fields of pharmacology and therapeutic development including chemical biology, drug discovery, AI in pharmacology, and drug metabolism as applied to human diseases such as, but not limited to, cancer, drug addiction, and neurodegenerative diseases. Investigators doing innovative research into new therapeutic modalities such as biologics, nucleic acids, cell therapy or proximity modulating agents, are also encouraged to apply.
The selected candidates will receive a competitive start-up package, modern lab space, and will be mentored by a formal committee. The successful candidates will join a vibrant, collegial, and multidisciplinary basic research department with extensive scientific connectivity with the Winship Cancer Institute, the Goizueta Institute @Emory Brain Health, the newly established Emory Center for New Medicines, the Department of Chemistry in the Emory College, and other basic and clinical departments across the School of Medicine. New faculty will have immediate access to formidable research infrastructures and core facilities, including the well-recognized Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center with state-of-the-art high-throughput screening capabilities, as well as top-ranked graduate training programs in pharmacology, neuroscience and cancer biology, among others. The Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory is experiencing another phase of growth with the strong commitment of the leadership of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center and the School of Medicine, who share a focused vision for mechanistic discovery and therapeutic innovation through translational research.
