Are you ready to be a part of groundbreaking research?

The Biomedical Assistant performs activities associated with the maintenance of controlled areas or shared lab resources in accordance with company policies and procedures. May perform laboratory tests, assist with lab work and experiments, and conduct analysis under supervision of manager, and/or scientist. Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensures all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and in proper working order. May be responsible for calibration of instruments. Performs general tasks and completes routine assignments. Receives assistance in the completion of more complex assignments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares sterile and non-sterile stock and working solutions.
  • Cleans and maintains laboratory area(s), equipment and glassware.
  • Supports occasionally experimentation and production activities as directed.
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs, equipment record books and/or computer database(s). Drafts standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains daily lab equipment operations by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs, as needed.
  • Administers laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED, required.

Experience and Skills:

  • One (1) year of experience in a lab or biotech setting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Federal, FDA, State, GLP, and accrediting agency requirements.
  • Ability to record log samples, test results from experiments, and project records.
  • Ability to help scientists with handing instruments and materials with knowledge of equipment or assist in performing tasks in the lab.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high impact and demanding environment.
  • Understanding of general research objectives.
  • Working knowledge of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software.
