Job description

Who We Are
Join our core production team at the Valparaiso, IN paper mill! As our Water Reclamation Operator, you will work directly alongside the Water Reclamation Manager to oversee, optimize, and safeguard our process wastewater systems. If you have a passion for process engineering, hands-on troubleshooting, and environmental stewardship, this is the role for you.
What You'll Do
  • Optimize & Maintain: Oversee wastewater chemical inventories, delivery systems, and cost-optimization efforts.
  • Analyze & Comply: Perform lab analyses, track compliance samples, and manage air/water permitting data.
  • Collaborate: Partner with Maintenance and E&I teams to ensure top-tier preventative and corrective equipment maintenance.
  • Safety First: Maintain rigorous safety and environmental standards across the Waste Water Facility.

What You Bring
  • Education: 2-to-4-year post-secondary degree required. A Bachelor's in Pulp & Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Paper mill experience is a major plus.
  • Licensing: A strong desire to acquire a Class D Indiana Waste Water License.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, technical troubleshooting (chemical & biological systems), and basic algebra/conversion skills.
  • Environment & Physical: Ability to work in both indoor lab environments and outdoor facilities year-round. Must be comfortable climbing ladders, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
