Job Description: TULE RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 31071 Hwy 190 Porterville, CA 93257 JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Civil Engineer, PE WORKSITE: TREDC Administrative Services 31071 Highway 190 Porterville, CA 93257 POSITION DESCRIPTION The Civil Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and improving biochar manufacturing systems and related processes. The role may collaborate with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs and enhance producibility. This position oversees four supervisors who collectively manage approximately 20 employees in the biochar plant, providing leadership in directing, coordinating, and evaluating operational activities. Unplanned Downtime Reduction (%): Measures the percentage decrease in unexpected equipment or process downtime over time. Cost Savings from Process Improvements: Quantifies financial gains resulting from efficiency, quality, or productivity enhancements. Corrective Action Closure Time: Tracks how quickly corrective actions are completed after issues are identified. Training Completion and Competency Rates: Measures employee training completion and the proficiency levels achieved.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/ engineering program in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.Must pass pre-employment background, drug, and alcohol screening. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer and color vision. Acute hearing is required. Typically, office work setting conditions. Frequently must be able to lift up to 10 pounds, normally must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must be able to lift over 20 pounds. This job requires the use of a vehicle, with frequent travel between stores and community locations. An employee must be able to have those repetitive motions and coordination associated with operating a motor vehicle.
