Job description

Are you an organized individual who is able to maintain logs, reports and other important documentation regarding bio waste? Are you self-motivated in being proactive? Do you enjoy aspects of hard to do tasks such as deliver soiled linens to satellite facilities and maintaining inspections as well as leading our parking lot security? If this sounds like you, San Luis Valley Health is looking for a part-time Bio Hazard Technician to join our EVS team! We would encourage you to apply!

What You'll Need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Valid Driver's License


What You'll Do:

  • Picks up all Bio Hazard from hospital and also receives Bio Waste from other facilities while keeping documentation of all incoming waste and poundage.
  • Keeps logs, maintains all state requirements for autoclave which includes manifest of outgoing sterilized Bio Waste.
  • Maintains weekly, monthly and annual inspection on autoclave and its process.
  • Maintain Hospital vehicles with gas, oil changes and cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Keeps logs and tickets unauthorized vehicles.
  • Helps do snow removal during shift when applicable.
  • Functions as hospital parking lot security.
  • Assists with maintenance duties such as simple repairs and help keeps mechanical rooms in an orderly fashion also helps with meeting set ups.
  • Delivers soiled linen and picks ups clean line from satellite facility.
