Job Summary:
The Lead Bindery Operator is responsible for providing finishing services for press and copier projects in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards. The Bindery Operator follows the workload schedule to meet the customer deadlines. The Bindery Operator also performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on all bindery equipment to ensure optimum output and works closely with other staff members to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations.
The Lead Bindery Operator is a member of the production team and accountable for:
  • Meeting the department production and quality goals.
  • Playing a key role in meeting the company wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals by providing guaranteed satisfaction and value to our customers.
  • Contributing to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth.
  • Maintaining personal productivity and quality standards that ensure attractive financial returns so PrintCraft may continue to provide excellent service to our customers and ensure job security and career growth for our staff.
  • Leverages tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensures engagement of the Bindery team through clear communication and leadership skills
  • Identifies barriers, establishes priorities, evaluates practices and develops plans to ensure successful production control operations

Responsibilities
Responsibility and Duties:
General and Administrative:
  • Coordinate with production team to produce and prioritize jobs.
  • Comply with all OSHA and PrintCraft safety requirements.
  • Participate as a key player of the production team by supporting operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the General Manager, Production Manager, sales team, and the production team; informing and updating them regularly to guarantee sales objectives and customer objectives are being met.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in company manuals.
Bindery Operations:
  • Perform all bindery functions as noted on job tickets.
  • Package jobs, complete job tickets and other documents as necessary and place in the assigned areas.
Equipment and Supplies:
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs.
  • Monitor and manage bindery supplies, order stock as instructed.
  • Inform supervisor of equipment problems.

Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience or vocational/technical certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
