Job description

Order Management & Billing Operations Contractor

Location: Fully Remote, open to candidates in any U.S. time zone
Employment Type: 6-month W2 contract
Pay Rate: $70–$80/hour, depending on experience
Start Timing: September cohort
Client: Confidential technology company, supported by Russell Tobin

About the Role

Russell Tobin is hiring an Order Management & Billing Operations Contractor to support a confidential, high-growth technology client. This role will support order management, billing readiness, marketplace offer workflows, pricing validation, provisioning coordination, and cross-functional commercial operations.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in Order Management, Deal Desk, Quote-to-Cash, Order-to-Cash, Billing Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Operations, or Marketplace Operations. Candidates with Deal Desk-heavy backgrounds are encouraged to apply, especially if they understand upstream deal workflows and are excited by post-signature execution.

This role is more transactional and administrative than a traditional Deal Desk role. The strongest candidates will be comfortable owning detailed order workflows through completion, including order review, pricing validation, provisioning coordination, billing readiness, and order data accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Process and provision sales-assisted orders end-to-end, including reviewing executed order forms in Salesforce, validating commercial terms against approved pricing, and coordinating customer access provisioning across internal systems.
  • Create and manage third-party marketplace private offers across platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure by translating contracted pricing and commit terms into marketplace-native offer structures.
  • Coordinate buyer acceptance of marketplace private offers with Account Executives and maintain offer lifecycle activity through amendments, renewals, and related order updates.
  • Support pricing operations for product launches, including issuing net-new and amended private offers at scale across multiple commercial surfaces during tight launch windows.
  • Perform quality reviews on processed orders, including peer quality control, provisioning accuracy checks, contract-to-system reconciliation, and order data validation.
  • Ensure order data is clean, complete, and accurate for downstream billing, invoicing, revenue operations, reporting, and customer access.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Billing, Revenue Operations, Product Marketing, Cloud Partner teams, and internal operations teams.
  • Contribute to special projects and process build-out, including SOP creation, marketplace tooling, automation initiatives, bulk offer issuance, vendor integrations, pricing reconciliation, and operational readiness for new products, regions, and entities.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Order Management, Deal Desk, Quote-to-Cash, Order-to-Cash, Billing Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Operations, Marketplace Operations, or a related function.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce order workflows, executed order forms, pricing validation, commercial terms, amendments, renewals, and downstream billing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of quote-to-cash or order-to-cash processes in a B2B environment.
  • Comfortable with transactional, detail-oriented order management work, including order review, validation, provisioning coordination, billing readiness, and data accuracy.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Billing, Revenue Operations, Product, Legal, or partner teams.
  • Ability to interpret order forms, pricing terms, contract details, committed spend, renewals, amendments, and customer order documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies between contracts, order forms, internal systems, billing data, and provisioning records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, high-volume order activity, product launch windows, and evolving processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as a W2 contractor.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the software, SaaS, cloud, AI, enterprise technology, or usage-based billing industry.
  • Experience across both Deal Desk and Order Management functions.
  • Experience with cloud marketplace private offers, including AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, or Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
  • Experience with Salesforce, CPQ, Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, SAP, Metronome, billing platforms, provisioning tools, or internal admin systems.
  • Experience supporting software licensing, renewals, amendments, product launches, pricing changes, or customer access provisioning.
  • Experience building or improving SOPs, process documentation, marketplace workflows, order automation, or pricing reconciliation processes.
  • Prior experience supporting global sales teams, international stakeholders, or distributed remote teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in order management, quote-to-cash, or deal desk operations and enjoys detailed execution work. Candidates coming from Deal Desk backgrounds should be comfortable with the more transactional and administrative nature of Order Management, including post-signature order processing, system validation, billing readiness, and order data accuracy.

Software industry experience is strongly preferred, as this role supports complex technology products, marketplace workflows, pricing operations, amendments, renewals, and cross-functional commercial processes.
