Job description

Essential Functions

Provide medical office front desk support to Surgical  practice   

Greet patients, collect co-pays, answer telephones, schedule patient appointments and testing, ensure necessary referrals are in place, verify and update patient demographics into electronic health record.

Escort patient to exam room for provider during clinic 

Schedule appointments, ancillary testing and surgery

Request prior authorizations for medical procedures/diagnostic exams and surgery. 

Refer medical questions to appropriate sources (Physician, Manager, or Director.  Prepare end of day cash/copay reports. 

Submit billing to our billing vendor with appropriate supporting documentation

Respond to billing companies requests for documentation or clarification of charges. 

Participate in special projects as identified by the Physician, Manager or Director

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Proficiency with computers and medical terminology preferred

Employment Type: Full time
