Therapist Associate (LMHCA, LMFTA, or LASWA)

Emmaus Counseling Center | Richland, Washington

Join Our Mission

Emmaus Counseling Center exists to bring Christ's wellness and wholeness into the lives of people in the Mid-Columbia region through professional counseling that integrates biblical truth and psychological understanding. We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Associate Therapist who is pursuing independent licensure and desires to serve clients in a Christ-centered counseling environment.

Position Summary

The Therapist Associate provides individual, couple, family, and group counseling services under the supervision of an approved Clinical Supervisor and the oversight of the Executive Director. This role offers the opportunity to develop clinical expertise, build a caseload, participate in multidisciplinary consultation, and contribute to the mission and outreach of Emmaus Counseling Center.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Emmaus policies and professional standards.

  • Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and staff meetings.

  • Collaborate effectively with administrative staff, referral partners, and other professionals.

  • Assist in developing referral relationships and community partnerships.

  • Participate in educational, consultation, and community relations activities.

  • Support organizational initiatives and administrative projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Pastoral Counseling, or a related behavioral science field from an accredited institution.

  • Current Washington State Associate License, such as:

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)

    • Licensed Advanced Social Worker Associate (LASWA) or equivalent

  • Actively pursuing independent licensure in Washington State.

  • Commitment to ethical clinical practice and professional growth.

Preferred

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in behavioral health, social services, ministry, or related helping professions.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

  • Experience integrating faith and mental health in a clinical setting.
