Company Description

Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced legal assistant or paralegal who is passionate about helping injured clients get the help they need. In this role, you will be responsible for providing initial analysis regarding the viability of a case and conveying the benefits of representation to prospective clients. (Bilingual Spanish required).

Job Description
  • Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and case management orders.
  • Assist attorneys in scheduling and preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials, including sending out notices, hiring court reporters/videographers, etc.
  • Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, imaging, bills, and other materials for client cases.
  • Electronically file legal documents in Illinois State Courts
  • Correspond effectively with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and clients.
  • Provide support during legal proceedings, including coordinating case schedules and ensuring compliance with deadlines.

Skills/attributes of successful applicants:

  • Outstanding listening and communication skills
  • Must have litigation and Workers' Compensation experience, including getting service, filing motions, calendaring court dates, and scheduling depositions.
  • Ability to analyze facts and present to the attorney for determination
  • Familiarity with Workers' Comp required
  • Collaborative, positive attitude, and respectful
  • Desire to learn and grow

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 / $60,000.00 per year
