Position Title: Bilingual Community Resource Navigator (Korean/English)

Part-Time Contract (10–15 hours per week)
Compensation: $25/hour
Location: Montgomery County, Maryland

Anticipated Start Date: April 2026

AfriThrive is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering African immigrant and minority families by providing access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food, promoting sustainable agriculture, and creating economic opportunity. AfriThrive operates community gardens, a cultural farm, and mobile food programs to address food security and agricultural sustainability.

Through partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community groups, AfriThrive distributes fresh and culturally relevant foods while strengthening healthy and resilient communities.

Requirements:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Bilingual Community Resource Navigator (Korean/English) supports AfriThrive’s outreach and engagement with Korean-speaking community members. You will help ensure Korean-speaking families can access AfriThrive’s food distribution programs and community resources by providing language support, culturally responsive outreach, and assistance during food distribution events.

Key Responsibilities:

· Attend AfriThrive food distribution events and assist Korean-speaking participants

· Provide interpretation and basic translation support when needed

· Help participants understand the food distribution process and available services

· Conduct outreach to Korean-speaking households and community networks

· Build relationships with Korean community organizations, faith institutions, and local groups

· Share information about AfriThrive programs and relevant community resources

· Help ensure Korean-speaking community members feel welcomed, informed, and supported

· Maintain simple records of outreach activities and provide brief updates to AfriThrive staff.
