Job description

SUMMARY

Position requires top-level bike service ability. Must have prior mechanic experience focusing on drivetrain, shocks/fork service, brakebleedsand e-bike motor repair/troubleshooting. This includes obtaining payment for goods sold and/or rented, safely fitting and renting bikes and biking accessories, andutilizingthe point-of-sale system while balancing daily receipts. A crucial part of every employee's job is to engage with guests and provide outstanding customer service, making each guest feel welcomed. Additionally, all employees are expected to serve as Grand Targhee ambassadors, promoting a positive guest experience at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIncludingthe following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Diagnosemechanical problems, conduct repairs, and perform routine maintenance onvarious typesof bicycles, including road bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes.

    1. Take in bikes for local service and manage the repair schedule to complete repairs quickly.

    1. Manage and track inventory of bike parts and accessories.

    1. Collaborate on the ordering of bikes, parts, & equipment to replenish stock.

    1. Provide superior service to all guests, including thegeneral publicand Grand Targhee employees,maintaininga friendly and enthusiastic attitude.

    1. Greet guests and discuss their needs for rental, retail, and repair services.

    1. Sell, service, rent, and fit bikes, helmets, and other protective gear to guests.

    1. Prepare rental forms, obtaining customersignaturesand other necessary information. Ensure proper understanding of rental forms and waivers of liability.

    1. Explain rental fees, policies, and procedures clearly to guests.

    1. Inspect and adjust rental items to ensure they meet customer needs.

    1. Receive, examine, and tag articles to be altered, cleaned, stored, or repaired. Perform bike tuning functions andfillwork tickets for major maintenance or repairs.

    1. Assistretail clerks when needed, including checkinginnew merchandise.

    1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bike inventory and bike supplies.

    1. Conduct physical inventories when necessary.

    1. Handle guest issues respectfully and professionally.

    1. Cross-trainto sell in other key areas of Habitat retail.

    1. Direct gueststotheappropriate bikemerchandise and provide up-to-date information (current trends, technical details, fabric characteristics, etc.) toassistwith purchases.

    1. Accept payment efficiently and courteously, ensuring proper entry of payment details into the cash register,accuratechangehandling, and verification of credit card transactions.

    1. Assistretail clerks with cashregisterbalancing at the beginning and end of shifts, following current policies and procedures.

    1. Maintain flexible working hours asrequired.

RESPONSIBILITIESTO SAFETY:

  1. Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
  2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.

  3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

  4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.

  5. Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.

  6. Drivein accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilitieswithstaff.

WORK SCHEDULE

Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week.This includes weekends andholidaysand there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may berequiredbased onthe businesslevels.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Knowledgeable and skilled in running a cash register withpreviouscash handling experience.

    • Guest service experience isrequired.

    • Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, with strong troubleshooting and repair skills.

    • Extensive knowledge of bike components, including drivetrain, suspension, frames, and wheels.
