Essential Development Requirements


1. Hadoop development (3 years: Experience with Pivotal and Hortonworks Hadoop Distributions

2. Java development (3-4 years)

3. No sql technology

4. ETL Talend scripting 


8 years' experience as a technical lead

 Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

 Extensive experience designing solutions to business problems with big data technologies 

 Experience taking solution concepts from ideation to deployment

 Linux/Unix administration

 Deep knowledge of database and data warehouse technologies

 Extensive experience with at least two of the following big data technology areas: Hadoop, NoSQL databases, and Search

 Facility with one or more of the following: Java, MapReduce, Python, Perl, Pig, Hive

 Experience with large data sets and their associated challenges 


Preferred skills and experience: 

> Familiarity with the media business 

> Familiarity with networking components, protocols, challenges, and solutions 

> Understanding of Analytics software, e.g. R, SAS, Matlab.

> Experience with Teradata and Oracle

> Experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Tableau
