Position Overview
Our Blue List Junior Assessor position will involve evaluating unmanned systems (aircraft, ground, water, underwater) and support systems (such as additive and subtractive manufacturing equipment) for compliance with statutory requirements, and cybersecurity requirements set by the Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA) and the Department of War. The assessor position requires attention to detail, hardware and software experience, and adaptability for changing requirements, report formats, and research. These positions offer a unique middle ground opportunity to work closely with unmanned systems vendors as well as the government, providing visibility to system design, development, manufacturing, and deployment. This is an onsite position in Charlotte, NC; and may include some, limited, travel to conferences, events, customer sites, or other company facilities.
Opportunities for Advancement
  • Throughout this opportunity, there are regular check-in opportunities to advance from a junior assessor to higher level tiers, including up to Lead Assessor; who's responsibilities encompass communicating with vendors throughout the process, verifying and validating submitted reports, providing expert guidance to both vendors and the government, and developing or enhancing standards, processes, and policies.
  • In addition to direct growth in the assessment field, Edgesource also offers cross training opportunities within other areas located in Charlotte, to include our cUAS branch and other sUAS offerings, as well as opportunities to attend industry events, receive training and certifications, and other continuing education
Required Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of experience in any of the following categories:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Cybersecurity
  • In lieu of experience, the following are acceptable:
    • Current senior college student in a related major, with internship experience in a related field
Nice to Have Qualifications
  • A B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related
  • Applied security research experience; conference presentation(s), bug bounty submission(s), blog post(s), GitHub, etc.
