Paint Estimator/Project Manager – Drive Restoration Excellence Across Southern California Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will serve as a dual-threat leader at Coastal CW, bridging the gap between precise technical estimation and high-level project execution. As a key player in our growing family-owned business, you will have the autonomy to manage significant restoration projects with no ceiling on your professional growth. Your expertise will directly influence our success in the commercial and federal sectors by ensuring every bid is accurate and every project is delivered to our exacting standards.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyze detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications to define project scopes and develop competitive, accurate bids.

  • Conduct thorough on-site evaluations to determine specific requirements for surface preparation, specialized materials, and labor.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing on materials and equipment to maintain healthy project profit margins.

  • Collaborate with Superintendents to supervise painting crews, ensuring they have the resources needed to meet strict timelines.

  • Execute comprehensive project plans that outline critical milestones and work breakdown structures for the field team.

  • Implement rigorous quality control measures and safety protocols to guarantee that every job site exceeds industry standards.

  • Maintain transparent communication with clients regarding project progress, change orders, and budget updates to ensure total satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a combined Estimator and Project Manager role within the painting or restoration industry.

  • Proven proficiency in using Bluebeam, Procore, and Excel for digital takeoffs and detailed cost estimation.

  • Strong background in managing budgets, labor allocations, and cost controls for commercial or industrial projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders, including government entities and private clients.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to various project sites throughout the region.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Specific experience estimating for prevailing wage, federal, or government-contracted projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of specialized industrial coatings and restoration-specific painting techniques.

  • Bilingual in Spanish
