At M-W Electric Inc., our estimators arent just behind the scenesyou are a key driver of our success. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator & Preconstruction Manager to manage high-profile bids for complex commercial, industrial, and government projects across North and South Carolina.

If you have 7+ years of experience, know your way around Accubid, and enjoy seeing your precise estimates turn into real-world builds (ranging from wastewater treatment facilities to massive generator installations), this role is built for you. What You Will Be Doing

You will leverage modern estimating tools and strong vendor relationships to build highly competitive, profitable bids:

  • Accurate Estimating: Prepare detailed electrical estimates, comprehensive takeoffs, and polished bid proposals using Accubid or similar software.

  • Deep Analysis: Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, blueprints, and one-line diagrams to accurately identify project scope and risk.

  • Strategic Value-Engineering: Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities to consistently improve bid competitiveness and profit margins.

  • Vendor Management: Source and manage vendor and subcontractor pricing while building and maintaining strong industry relationships.

  • Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers and field leadership to track bid outcomes and performance metrics.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a leader in the office by supporting, training, and mentoring junior team members.


What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 710+ years of dedicated electrical construction or estimating experience is required.

  • Software Proficiency: Proven experience with Accubid or comparable electrical estimating platforms.

  • Technical Knowledge: A strong, comprehensive understanding of the NEC, as well as commercial and industrial electrical systems.

  • Blueprint Proficiency: The proven ability to accurately read and interpret complex construction plans and one-line diagrams.

  • Mindset & Skills: Highly detail-oriented, incredibly organized, and deadline-driven, with exceptional communication skills.

  • Education & Licensure: An Associates degree is preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience). An NC Electrical License is highly preferred. A valid Drivers License is absolutely required.
