Job description

Job Title: Capture Manager

Summary of Responsibility


K2 Solutions is seeking an experienced Capture Manager. The Capture Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and executing the capture process for strategic opportunities in the government market. This role requires a deep understanding of government procurement processes, competitive intelligence, customer relationship management, and the ability to develop winning strategies that align with K2’s goals. The Capture Manager will work closely with the Business Development team to secure new contracts and grow K2’s portfolio. The Capture Manager must be a self-starter who is innately flexible, can work in a fast-paced environment, and has a collegial attitude.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Collaborate with colleagues (executive, leadership and peers) to identify new opportunities
  • Lead the development and execution of capture plans for targeted opportunities and new business, including identified milestones, key activities, events and relationships
  • Identify win themes, discriminators, and competitive positioning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Identify and engage with teaming partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders to strengthen bid competitiveness.
  • Participate in industry days, conferences, and networking events to gather intelligence.
  • Oversee opportunity qualification and pipeline management in coordination with Business Development.
  • Track procurement forecasts, solicitations, and RFPs/RFI in coordination with Business Development.
  • Support bid/no-bid decision-making with data-driven recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and accuracy of financial projections and BD reports to include backlog, waterfall and future program projections

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business field or 10 years’ experience in Business Development or Government Capture
  • 5+ years of experience in government business development, capture management, or proposal development
  • Proven track record of successfully capturing and winning government contracts (DoD, Federal Civilian, State/Local)
  • Strong knowledge of government acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS, and procurement lifecycles
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Existing relationships with government agencies and prime contractors.
  • Experience in specific domains (e.g., SOF, logistics, training, intel, etc.)
  • Capture certification (e.g., Shipley, APMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Active security clearance or eligibility for clearance preferred.
  • DOD experience and familiarity with the SOF community.
