Job Description
WI DOT is seeking a Project Manager to help lead a Data Warehouse, BI, and Reporting project associated with the state STAR PeopleSoft implementation.
  • The candidate must have skills and experience managing Data Warehouse, BI, and Reporting related projects. Must be familiar with the tasks necessary to design and build a Data Warehouse, and associated multiple reporting needs. Must have experience managing PeopleSoft Reporting projects. Must understand Data Warehouse concepts and the deliverables associated with Data Warehouse and Reporting projects.
  • Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework. Understands business and technical objectives of a project and works closely with project sponsor. Creates project charter, work plan, tracks schedule progress via appropriate metrics, and reports on status on a weekly basis.
  • Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities. Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Manages scope. Keeps track of project issues and their resolution. Creates and implements a communication plan. Builds an effective team, assigns tasks to team members, and evaluates outcomes. Negotiates resources.
  • Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsor. Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers. Provides technical support to project team members. Handles complex application features and technical designs.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Professional certification is highly desirable. Project Manager capabilities with 11 or more years of experience. Capable of managing a project with ten (10) or more staff and/or a project with multiple subprojects.

Specific Skills and Job Requirements:
  • 11+ years Project Management Experience, responsible for managing projects from inception to implementation
  • Minimum 8+ years experience leading Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence concepts and the deliverables associated with these types of projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of ETL and reporting processes as they relate to project delivery, e.g. Informatica, Business Objects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PeopleSoft Reporting options and report development processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SDLC
  • 11+ years experience with Waterfall & Agile project methodologies
  • Experience managing priorities
  • 11+ years experience creating detailed project schedules, and managing to them
  • 11+ years experience using MS Project, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visi
