Job description

Job Title: Terminal Manager
Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Terminal Manager based out of our Council Bluffs branch. We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest region for over 130 years. We distribute to 11 different states across our 5 locations. Loffredo Fresh Foods believes that our employees are the key to a successful future. The Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing daily transportation and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, staffing, and delivery coordination. This role involves leading and developing team members, managing driver performance using tools like Drive Cam, collaborating with maintenance for vehicle repairs, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. The manager must effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, hire and train staff, and be available after hours to address transportation-related issues. Strong leadership, customer focus, and experience in transportation logistics are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience

What we look for:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor in Supply Chain Logistics or related field preferred, or experience in lieu of
  • 3-5 years of previous leadership experience in a Transportation department or location
  • Basic knowledge of routing software such as Road Net, Dispatch Track, ect..
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service required
  • Must be customer driven and that is for both internal and external customers
  • Ability to lead and develop team members
  • Must be available after hours to deal with issues related to transportation or its team members

What you’ll do:

  • Provide day to day leadership and direction to the transportation staff and warehouse
  • Manage employee schedules to ensure proper daily staffing levels
  • Coordinate run backs or seconds with the team to ensure customer getting service
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and team members, both external and internal
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop staff members
  • Provide coaching sessions on correct driver behavior thru use of Drive Cam
  • Work closely with on-site maintenance department on all repairs
  • Perform other job related duties as required
