Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Facility Data Manager to serve as the senior subject matter expert (SME) for facility data management, applying specialized and extensive knowledge across multiple technical and business disciplines. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of facility data governance, quality assurance, and analytics strategies for NASA's Office of Strategic Infrastructure Facilities and Real Estate Division. Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility across facility operations, maintenance, and asset management systems.
General Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead facility data management practices, standards, and lifecycle governance, ensuring alignment with organizational, federal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Architect and oversee data governance policies, quality assurance protocols, and compliance frameworks.
  • Direct integration and optimization of facility management systems (e.g., CMMS), ensuring robust asset tracking, maintenance activities, and space utilization.
  • Provide technical leadership in system design, development, configuration, and integration of hardware, software, cloud components, and user interfaces.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in integrating data systems, streamlining workflows, and achieving end-to-end alignment across platforms.
  • Lead system configuration, documentation, version control, and testing, including advanced test case development and results analysis.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify systemic issues, and drive resolution of data-related errors or configuration gaps.
  • Implement, enforce, and continuously improve Row Level Security (RLS) within reporting environments (e.g., Power BI) to ensure secure, role-appropriate data access across facility organizations.
  • Develop and deliver advanced dashboards, metrics, and analytical reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and SQL to support strategic decisions and performance monitoring.
  • Define, configure, and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational strategy and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze facility-related data to identify operational trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization or cost savings.
  • Facilitate facility team meetings and data-driven initiatives, providing expert guidance and technical leadership.
  • Translate complex stakeholder needs into actionable technical or reporting updates, refining system requirements for facility data, asset tracking, and maintenance workflows.
  • Provide advanced user support and training for facility management teams on data entry protocols, reporting tools, system workflows, and data governance practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and standard operating procedures related to data quality processes, system configurations, reporting procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Promote and reinforce consistent data entry and governance standards and routine quality assurance practices across teams.
  • Stay current on best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends related to facility data management, analytics, and system integration.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to improve data accessibility, reporting accuracy, system efficiency, and overall data maturity.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership in the given area of expertise.

Requirements
Required Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Analytics, Information Systems, Facility Management, or a related field.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in data management, analytics, facility operations, or maintenance within medium to large IT or business environments.

Required Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, Certifications, etc.:
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple technical or business fields, with extensive knowledge of facility data management and related specialties.
  • Proven ability to deliver technological or business requirements and solve complex problems.
  • Advanced familiarity with CMMS platforms, data analytics tools, and ETL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance fundamentals, KPI tracking, and regulatory requirements.
