We specialize in alternative risk transfer strategies and creative program design tailored to the unique risk profiles of dealership groups.

Located in McKinney, TX, we offer a highly collaborative culture with flexible office and remote work options.

We are seeking a Director, Client Consulting โ€“ Dealer Risk Practice Leader to serve our auto dealer vertical. This individual will serve as the firmโ€™s subject matter expert and strategic leader for dealer risk, driving client outcomes, shaping our consulting approach, and expanding our presence in this niche.

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role designed for an experienced professional who can operate independently, influence executive stakeholders, and deliver sophisticated risk solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership

  • Lead and evolve the firmโ€™s Dealer Risk Practice strategy, including service model, carrier relationships, and program innovation
  • Establish and refine best practices for consulting, placement strategy, and ongoing client engagement

Client Leadership & Consulting

  • Own and lead executive-level client relationships, serving as the primary strategic advisor to dealership ownership and leadership teams
  • Design and deliver comprehensive risk management strategies, including complex property, casualty, and alternative risk programs
  • Translate sophisticated insurance structures into clear, actionable business recommendations

Program Design & Placement

  • Lead strategy on coverage design, marketing, and placement execution, including large and complex placements
  • Develop creative solutions with an emphasis on captives, large deductible programs, and alternative risk transfer
  • Collaborate closely with underwriters and carrier partners to deliver differentiated outcomes

Client Service Execution

  • Own and execute the Dealer Risk Services Client Service Timeline, ensuring proactive communication and exceptional delivery
  • Serve as the escalation point and strategic problem-solver for complex client issues and evolving risks

Business Development

  • Partner with producers and leadership to expand the firmโ€™s footprint in the dealer market

Internal Leadership

  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to internal team members supporting dealer accounts
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency and excellence in client delivery


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, insurance consulting, or underwriting
  • Significant experience working with auto dealer risks strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in alternative risk structures (captives, large deductibles, SIRs)
  • Deep knowledge of core P&C lines, including:
  • Property (high TIV schedules, business income)
  • Garage liability & Garage keepers
  • Umbrella/excess casualty
  • Dealers open lot
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Business continuity planning
  • Contractual risk transfer
  • Insurance to value
  • Proven ability to engage and influence C-suite and ownership-level clients
  • Property & Casualty insurance license required
  • CPCU, ARM, or similar designations (or willingness to pursue) preferred
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Highly self-directed with the ability to operate independently at a high level
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
