About the Opportunity

A full-service hotel in Southern California is seeking to identify an experienced Rooms Division Manager to oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and related rooms operations. This is a key leadership opportunity for a hands-on hotel professional who is passionate about exceptional service, operational consistency, and developing high-performing teams.

The Rooms Division Manager will oversee the complete guest journey from pre-arrival through departure while maintaining high standards for cleanliness, responsiveness, efficiency, and personalized service. This leader will work closely with hotel leadership and other departments to strengthen operating procedures, improve guest satisfaction, and drive the Rooms Division's service and financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and related rooms operations
  • Coach, mentor, and develop department managers, supervisors, and hourly team members
  • Ensure seamless arrival, departure, VIP, and guest-recovery experiences
  • Oversee pre-arrival planning, room assignments, inventory, and overbooking strategies
  • Conduct daily operational briefings, guestroom inspections, and quality reviews
  • Maintain exceptional standards for guestroom cleanliness, presentation, safety, and readiness
  • Establish and maintain effective room inspection, deep-cleaning, linen, and quality-control procedures
  • Monitor room turnaround, productivity, staffing, labor costs, operating expenses, and supply usage
  • Analyze guest feedback and satisfaction scores to identify and implement service improvements
  • Partner with Engineering to address maintenance concerns and maximize room availability
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Sales, and other departments to provide a seamless guest experience
  • Develop departmental budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and operational goals
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain Rooms Division leaders and team members
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, safety requirements, ADA guidelines, fire codes, and applicable labor regulations
  • Oversee property management systems, work-order platforms, key-control procedures, and in-room technology
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and support emergency response as needed

Ideal Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive Front Office, Housekeeping, or Rooms Division leadership experience
  • Current or previous experience as a Rooms Division Manager, Director of Rooms, Assistant Director of Rooms, Front Office Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or similar hotel leader
  • Full-service hotel, resort, conference hotel, or upscale hospitality experience preferred
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple departments while developing managers and supervisors
  • Strong understanding of front office operations, room inventory, housekeeping standards, guest service, and labor management
  • Experience managing departmental budgets, forecasts, operating expenses, staffing, and productivity
  • Proficiency with hotel property management and work-order systems; Opera or HotSOS experience is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain composed and make effective decisions in a fast-paced hotel environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, peak periods, and emergency coverage
