Job Summary

Under limited supervision, performs duties following established procedures in the following areas:

Essential Functions
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.
  • Assembles pre-packs, displays, and other objects, completing work orders.
  • May operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Stores shipments in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information.
  • May mark identifying codes using labeling equipment.
  • May move or transport material or supplies to other departments, using hand or industrial truck.
Additional Responsibilities
  • May also keep records on number of items or cartons received.
  • Support of and involvement in company, departments, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, field of vision.
