Job Responsibilities:
As a CDL-B/A Driver, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating a 26-foot straight truck to transport and deliver donated goods to our Attended Donation Centers across Central New York.
  • Safely unloading goods at donation centers are returning carts of donations to our Liverpool warehouse for sorting and processing.
  • Documenting driving hours, fuel/toll receipts, and complying with driving regulations (e.g., route, parking, weight limits) and company policies and procedures.
  • Performing truck inspections and conducting maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Providing exceptional customer service while maintaining professional interactions with donation center staff and the public.
What Weโ€™re Looking for:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations and ability to adhere to them
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic and weather challenges
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to represent the Rescue Mission professionally
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and keep work areas clean and organized
  • Willingness to submit background and drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • Truck maneuvering abilities
  • Ability and willingness to carry out delivery instructions and to report any defects, accidents, and violations.
Education amp; Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NYS CDL โ€˜Bโ€™/A with air brake endorsement in compliance with company driving criteria required
  • 2+ years of previous driving experience preferred.
