Certified Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Schedule: Full-time, 8.5-hour shift scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. CST
Help Patients Access the Medications They Need
Cloud Rx is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Prior Authorization team. In this role, you will work directly with patients, healthcare providers, clinics, and insurance companies to help remove barriers to medication access.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating with others, and managing detailed work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will play an important part in moving prior authorization requests forward accurately and efficiently while keeping patients and clinic partners informed throughout the process.
What You'll Do
  • Review prescription orders to identify medications requiring prior authorization.
  • Gather and verify patient, insurance, prescription, and medical information.
  • Prepare and submit accurate prior authorization requests to insurance providers.
  • Follow up on pending requests, missing documentation, approvals, and denials.
  • Communicate with patients to explain the prior authorization process and provide status updates.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinics, pharmacies, and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues.
  • Manage real-time clinic chats and respond promptly to questions and action items.
  • Document all activity accurately and maintain complete patient records.
  • Protect confidential patient information and follow applicable pharmacy and healthcare regulations.
  • Meet established performance expectations, including patient turnaround times, accuracy, and other department metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and the patient experience.
  • Assist with other team responsibilities as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • Active Texas Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing.
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, prescription medications, insurance processes, and prior authorizations.
  • Previous prior authorization, specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A patient-focused approach and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Excellent organization, follow-up, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfort learning and navigating multiple software platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Ability to remain professional and solution-focused in a high-volume environment.

Schedule and Work Location
This is a full-time, 100% onsite position in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Team members must be available to work a standard 8.5-hour shift scheduled between our operating hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. CST.
