Job Summary

The Middle School CTE Teacher in Computer Science is responsible for developing and delivering an engaging curriculum that introduces students to foundational computer science concepts, computational thinking, coding, and digital problem-solving. This teacher will inspire students to explore careers in technology while building skills in programming, data, cybersecurity, and digital citizenship. The role requires a dynamic educator who can create an innovative, collaborative, and handsโ€‘on learning environment aligned to CTE pathways and future high school coursework.

Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Development and Instruction
  • Implement an engaging and relevant computer science curriculum aligned with state standards, high school CTE pathways, and overall school goals.
  • Teach foundational concepts such as coding, algorithms, data, cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide handsโ€‘on learning through projectโ€‘based learning, simulations, and realโ€‘world technology challenges.
  • Integrate technology tools and platforms that allow students to actively design, create, and problemโ€‘solve using computer science principles.
Student Engagement and Support
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and computational thinking through coding projects and collaborative activities.
  • Support students in developing their own technologyโ€‘based projects and guide them through design, testing, and presentation.
  • Provide individualized support and mentorship to help students explore interests in computer science and related career fields.
Collaboration and Professional Development
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate computer science concepts across content areas and participate in interdisciplinary projects.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in CTE and computer science education.
