Job description

Overview

If you have a passion for APIs & SDKs and want to work with the latest mobile technologies, Esri may be the place for you! We empower native app developers with comprehensive mapping capabilities and a premium developer experience. In this role you will build developer resources for ArcGIS Maps SDK for Kotlin, documenting best patterns and practices. You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, implementation, and validation of new features.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Portland, OR area for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sample code that highlights product capabilities
  • Manage the development and release of Sample Viewer app in app stores
  • Build compelling demos that showcase common geospatial workflows and product features
  • Support users in the Esri Community to troubleshoot app development issues, gather feedback, and ensure a great developer experience
  • Promote the product with engaging presentations, workshops, blogs, videos, and other content

More experienced individuals will:

  • Work closely with product development teams to adopt upcoming technologies and develop new features
  • Examine complex user workflows and define solutions by working closely with customers
  • Lead and coordinate teams of engineers to deliver product releases

Requirements

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in application development
  • Experience with Android development, knowledge of Kotlin programming language and Compose UI frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, prioritization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related field
  • Ability to design great application user experiences
  • Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology
