Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day administration of U.S. benefits and retirement programs, partnering with HR, payroll, carriers, and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state benefits legislation, monitoring regulatory changes and escalating risks as needed.
  • Oversee annual open enrollment, including system configuration, plan setup, deductions, and employee communications.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for leave of absence and disability management, providing guidance on complex cases and escalations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including selection, performance oversight, contracts, and related budgets.
  • Analyze benefits trends, utilization, and costs to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the implementation and communication of approved new benefit plans or program changes.
  • Build strong, customer-focused relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop benefits team members, supporting performance, growth, and engagement.
  • Model and reinforce PCL’s solution provider and profitability culture.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred. Relevant professional designation preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration or total rewards, including hands-on experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • 1–3 years of experience leading or supervising benefits or HR professionals.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. benefits programs, related legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience assessing programs and analyzing benefits data and trends.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related HR systems.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and company locations, as required.

The estimated salary range for this role is between $120,000-$155,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
