Job description

Benchmark Community Bank is seeking to hire an outgoing and service-oriented Teller for our Clarksville team. The Teller leaves a lasting impression and assists our customers with a variety of financial transactions. Do you love working in customer service, but are looking for better hours and better pay? Then, this might be the opportunity that you've been looking for!
ABOUT BENCHMARK COMMUNITY BANK
Benchmark Community Bank is a full-service, progressive financial institution that is integrally involved with each of the communities that we serve. In 1971, BCB opened for business in a "doublewide" in Kenbridge, Virginia. From those humble beginnings almost 55 years ago, Benchmark's leaders have developed a well-regarded institution upon which many Southside Virginians depend for their banking needs. Since 1971 growth has been strong and steady and we are proud to serve the Southside Virginia and northern North Carolina communities. Over the years, we have also continually found ways to give back to the community in which our customers live. We have always been and intend to continue to remain locally owned and operated.
Benchmark Community Bank is not only a great place to do business, but it is also a great place to work. As a part of our team, our staff members enjoy excellent benefits, a dynamic work environment, opportunities for internal advancement, professional development, and much more.
A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A TELLER
As a Teller, you cheerfully greet customers as they walk through our doors of the Clarksville branch. You are the first point of contact for the majority of our customers and the first impression when a customer enters the branch. Because of your friendly and service-oriented personality, building relationships with our customers comes naturally.
You stay busy as you efficiently process routine financial transactions for our customers such as deposits, withdrawals, checks, and loan payments. You also have opportunities to utilize your product knowledge and recommend financial products and services to meet the current and future financial needs of our customers. During your workday, you maintain a cash drawer with all the proper controls, receipts, security, proofs, etc., ensuring it balances at the end of each day. Being detail oriented and accurate is an extremely important skill since you will spend the majority of your day counting cash, entering information into a computer, complying with check-cashing guidelines and looking for fraudulent activity.
As an ambitious learner and team member, you eagerly take on all service opportunities, from the easy going to the challenging. Your service tasks include new account processing, updating customer and account information and providing needs-based solutions for customers. You enjoy being part of a fun, supportive team, but most of all you love serving our customers and go home at the end of the day feeling great about the service you've provided them!
