The Quality Technician is responsible isresponsible for developing and maintaining quality engineering methodologiesand providing quality technical direction within new product development,manufacturing, or system/services support. The incumbent will live the corporate values of treating people with dignity and respect, practicing leadership, driving continuous improvement, acting with a sense of urgency, promoting innovation, fighting for consensus, and managing through teams.
Specific Responsibilities:
*Provide data compilation and complete PPAP documentation in accordance with APQP/NPD requirements.
*Facilitate GR&Rs and review of ISIRs and other required documents.
*Perform first article inspection of purchased components against defined control plan including documenting inspection results.
*Participate in the corrective and preventive action process by working with other departments to develop effective solutions to problems. Includes retrieving the necessary data for continuous improvement.
*Actively participate in quality improvement project teams to enhance the quality of Bemis products and processes.
*Participate in customer visits as necessary.
*Provide disposition of RGAs, warranty claims, customer rejections, and quarantined products.
*Will oversee lower activity customer accounts under the guidance of the QE and Quality Manager.
*Conduct internal ISO audits.
*Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
*2 years experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
*Ability to collect, analyze, and present data utilizing pareto, trend analysis, cause and effect diagrams and corrective/preventative action techniques.
*Ability to interpret part prints; understanding of basic GD&T preferred.
*Strong problem solving and analytical skills focused largely on proactive versus reactive risk mitigation.
*Strong organizational skills (Project Management skills is a plus).
*Communication - demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional work groups including suppliers, customers and associates, both verbally and in writing.
*Diplomacy - skilled at handling situations without arousing hostility.
*Computer Skills - In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Experience with other quality software applications beneficial. (e.g., statistical analysis, trend analysis).
*Ability to travel up to 10%.
