Job description

ASR Group is the world's largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. The company produces a full line of grocery, industrial, food service and specialty sweetener products. Across North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries, located in Louisiana, New York, California, Maryland, Canada and Mexico. In Europe, the company owns and operates sugar refineries in England and Portugal. ASR Group also owns and operates mills in Mexico and Belize. The company's brand portfolio includes the leading brands Domino, C&H, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyle's and Sidul.

OVERVIEW

This position will directly supervise up to 30 unionized employees on rotating shifts.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations. Assigns duties and ensures conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with all associates.
  • Develop weekly labor schedules.
  • Enforce company policies, and hold employees accountable.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity and following FIFO policy.
  • Ensure that shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  • Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Orderly stacking of product.
  • Lead operations in a way that promotes safety.
  • Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
  • Produce and analyze reports related to warehouse and distribution.
  • Responsible for the security of the building when acting as supervisor in charge.
  • Rotating shifts and reasonable overtime (including some weekends) required

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse
  • 4-year degree highly desirable.
  • Experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred.
  • Successful communication - written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish priorities and multi-task.
  • Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand, produce and explain reports

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred
  • MS Office (Word / Excel / Email) a must!
  • Must be able to work weekends, overtime and rotating shifts
  • Excellent Communication Skills

LOCATION OF ROLE

  • Baltimore, MD

SALARY PAY RANGE: $62,500 - $115,500 plus bonus

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
