A behavioral psychologist works with patients that have behavioral health issues such as substance abuse, depression, bipolar disorder, and similar psychological issues. In this career, you use a variety of methods and techniques to assist the patient in effectively altering their behavior patterns over time. The applicant should have experience working in an interdisciplinary healthcare setting, preferably in an academic and/or medical setting, and a record of providing education/training opportunities at the university and in the community.
