Job description

We are seeking a per diem Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health environment. This role is ideal for nurses who are compassionate, clinically confident, and comfortable working in a structured setting supporting patients with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult behavioral health patients
  • Perform mental health assessments, monitoring, and patient observation
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Support patients during behavioral health crises and therapeutic interventions
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education
  • Document care accurately in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams

Schedule

  • Full‐time
  • 12‐hour shifts
    • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state‐specific or compact, as applicable)
  • Behavioral Health / Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured inpatient environment

Preferred Experience

  • Inpatient psychiatric, detox, or dual‐diagnosis experience
  • CPI certification or willingness to obtain
