Manager Behavioral Health Services - Connecticut

*Candidates Must Reside in the state of Connecticut.

Location: Hybrid 2: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

Work Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (EST)


The Manager Behavioral Health Services is responsible for Behavioral Health support teams within the ACCESS program and provides operational and clinical supervision to a multidisciplinary behavioral health team under the direction of the Program Director.

How you will make an impact:

  • Oversees day-to-day program operations, workflow coordination, staff supervision, provider engagement activities, and implementation efforts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and successful program delivery.

  • Coordinates implementation activities, supporting provider engagement, monitoring operational performance, facilitating communication among internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion of program deliverables

  • Identifies and recommends revisions to policies/procedures

  • Supports quality improvement activities.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires current, active, unrestricted license such as either a RN, LCSW (as applicable by state law and scope of practice), LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in the state of Connecticut is required.

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing and minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment and extensive experience in case management and telephonic coaching with members with a broad range of complex psychiatric/substance abuse and/or medical disorders; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience supervising licensed behavioral health clinicians and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Experience leading behavioral health programs within a managed care, healthcare, or community behavioral health setting preferred.

  • Experience managing contract deliverables, operational workflows, quality improvement initiatives, and performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of Connecticut behavioral health systems, community resources, and provider networks.

  • Experience implementing new programs or operational initiatives while managing competing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizations and stakeholders.

  • Experience working with state-funded behavioral health programs or government contracts preferred.
