We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct support to individuals receiving behavioral health and mental health services in a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to clients.
- Monitor client behavior and document observations accurately and objectively.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, and life skills development as needed.
- Facilitate recreational activities under the direction of clinical staff.
- Support clients during crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques.
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of clients and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred:
- Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, or healthcare.
