Position Overview

The Life Edge Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and empathic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide essential mental health services to individuals navigating the complex journey of trauma recovery. This full-time position is fully remote, allowing you to make an impact from the comfort of your home while connecting with clients in our community health clinic located in Augusta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to ascertain clients’ histories and determine effective treatment paths.
• Develop and execute tailored treatment plans aimed at fostering healing and resilience, while regularly reviewing and adjusting these plans based on client progress.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing processes.
• Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients articulate their experiences, cultivate coping strategies, and promote recovery.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure integrated, coordinated care that addresses all aspects of a client’s well-being.
• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions promptly.
• Offer psychoeducation to clients and their families, equipping them with knowledge about trauma responses and the resources available within our clinic and the greater community.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring accuracy for ongoing treatment and case management.
• Engage in regular case consultations and contribute to team meetings with a focus on trauma-informed care practices to enhance service delivery.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in trauma therapy, consistently integrating new findings into therapeutic practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have been affected by various traumatic experiences, including those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and associated dissociative disorders. Your work will have a direct and profound impact on their lives as they navigate their healing journeys, fostering a sense of hope and resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia is mandatory for this role.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a therapeutic setting is preferred, particularly in trauma-focused care.
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering trauma-informed therapeutic modalities, particularly EMDR and TF-CBT, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to client interactions.
• Ability to remain composed and professional under stress, showcasing exceptional crisis management capabilities.
• Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with using technology as a collaborative tool.

Compensation and Benefits
