Job description

Behavioral Health Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behavioral Health Nurse to join our mental health care team. In this meaningful and highly interactive role, you will support patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral conditions, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use challenges, and acute mental health crises.

Your primary responsibilities will include conducting mental status assessments, administering medications, monitoring behavioral changes, and implementing individualized care plans designed to promote emotional stability and safety. You will support therapeutic interventions, facilitate group or one-on-one patient interactions, assist with crisis de-escalation, and ensure a safe, structured environment. In addition, you will provide patient and family education on coping strategies, treatment adherence, and community resources that foster long-term recovery.

This role requires excellent communication, strong emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in high-stress situations. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other members of a multidisciplinary team committed to holistic, patient-centered mental health care.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Active RN license
