Overview


Achieve is seeking a compassionate and dependable part-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) located in the Southern Region of Indianapolis, Indiana to provide one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities. ABA therapy is an evidence-based approach that is highly individualized that helps individuals develop communication, social, and life skills while reducing challenging behaviors and is provided in home and community settings under Indiana Medicaid guidelines and the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Implement individualized strategies from the behavior support plan
  • Implement skill acquisition programs
  • Implement behavior reduction programs to decrease problematic behaviors safely and effectively that interfere with learning, social interaction, or daily life
  • Teach communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills using evidence-based ABA strategies with positive reinforcement and prompting to support success and meaningful behavior change
  • Safely reduce challenging behaviors using approved behavior support techniques and Safety Care procedures
  • Accurately collect and record behavioral and skill acquisition data during each session so the BCBA can adjust the behavior support plan if necessary
  • Complete daily session notes and required documentation for clinical review and Medicaid compliance in the electronic health and medical record (EHR/EMR)
  • Communicate professionally with caregivers, families, BCBAs, and the clinical team regarding client progress, behavior, development, and concerns
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development
  • Assist with assessments and implement feedback under the direction of the supervising BCBA
  • Support clients with adaptive needs, including toileting and personal care, as needed
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and BACB Ethics Code standards
  • Maintain RBT certification requirements, supervision hours, and ongoing professional development units
  • Remain prepared for a BACB RBT certification audit
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards set forth by the BACB in all interactions
  • Monitor and document client progress to ensure data collection is accurate and timely
  • Engage in regular communication with families to provide guidance on reinforcing strategies at home
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients and their families
  • Provide direct care, including tasks related to communication, socialization, academic skills, and daily living activities
Requirements:


  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent, required
    • Copy of diploma or GED
    • Transcript(s)
  • Clean background check (including but not limited to fingerprinting, National and Federal Database searches, County Searches, IN Child Abuse Registry, Sex Offender abuse registery, OIG Exclusion Database, Social Security Death Index, SAM Exclusion Database)
  • RBT Certification from the BACB preferred at time of application (completing certification prior to employment required)
    • Complete a 40-hour RBT training course
    • Pass the initial RBT Competency Assessment
    • Apply for RBT certification
    • Pass the RBT certification examination
  • Maintain RBT certification through the annual recertification process set forth by the BACB
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Negative TB test
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Active auto insurance (with appropriate coverage for driving required for this position)
  • NPI number, preferred at time of application (must be obtained before seeing clients)
  • Complete required onboarding training

Qualifications


  • Demonstrate reliability and consistent attendance
  • Reliable transportation to and from clients location
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to follow detailed behavior plans and implement feedback from BACB
  • Access to electronic devices with access to internet
  • Familiarity with navigation of EHR/EMR and Payroll/HR Platforms via both website and mobile app access
  • Experience using a timeclock to clock in and clock out accurately
  • Experience working with individuals (children and/or adults) with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, or intellectual disabilities
  • Familiarity with an electronic health/medical record system (EHR/EMR)
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security standards
  • Maintain RBT certification by completing supervision requirements, ongoing training and education, as required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Experience working with children or individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Maintain diligence to prevent unauthorized viewing related to personal computers or mobile devices
