Job Description
The Supervisor of the Behavior Health Providers (BHP) supervises program and coordinates activities of the collaborative care team, participates in planning work of assigned clinics and coordinates activities with the medical providers and consulting psychiatric provider. The Supervisor of BHP also provides patient care in the absence of the BHP. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgement to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides mental health services consistent with established productivity standards
    1. Evaluation and Analysis Assesses patient needs, problems, strengths and limitations by reviewing medical records and through interactions with BHPs, patients, providers and/or consulting psychiatric provider.
    2. Ensures continuity, standardization and evidence-based practice among the BHPs working with the Primary care providers and consulting psychiatric provider.
    3. Supports psychotropic medication management as prescribed by the medical providers, focusing on treatment adherence monitoring, side effects and effectiveness of treatment.
    4. Serves as a valuable resource of linking patients to resources such as support groups, government entitlement, etc.
    5. Maintain clinical oversight over the program in conjunction with the consultant Psychiatrist.
    6. Provide proper training opportunities for BHPs as needed.
    7. Evaluates the effectiveness of the program and makes recommendations for program development.
  2. Partnership and Collaboration Collaborates with BHPs and consulting Psychiatrist on treatment plans.
    1. Coordinates and participates in multidisciplinary collaborative care meetings.
    2. Assists with identifying through case finding those patients who do not respond to treatment ensure f/u.
    3. Promotes teamwork through participation in departmental meetings, performance improvement efforts and data collection.
    4. Maintains a satisfactory attendance record and notifies Manager if unable to attend work.
    5. Exhibits a cooperative team spirit by working well with all customers.
    6. Consistently uses resources, policies, and procedures effectively. Consults Manager when unsure of policy.
  3. Documentation/Quality Reviews/assists with ensuring that patients are tracked and followed up on using a registry.
    1. Ensuring that face to face and telephone encounters are documented correctly by performing chart audits and feedback to the BHPs.
    2. Reviews billing practices to ensure billing is correct and timely filing.
    3. Tracks quality performance and reports out as requested. Conforms to regulatory, customer and organizational requirements.
  4. Other duties as assigned
    1. Adheres to hospital policy on the usage of Paid Time Off and Extended Illness time.
    2. Reports to work on time and if tardy, notifies Manager.
    3. Maintains a professional appearance, according to job requirements, at all times.
    4. Responds appropriately to fire, safety, PEC, and other emergency codes, such as code pink and code white.
    5. Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) in the appropriate manner for optimal personal protection.
    6. Adheres to infection control practices.
    7. Completes requirement for TB skin testing and annual flu vaccination requirements.
    8. Assumes personal responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
    9. Accepts additional work assignments as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications
Experience - 2 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with knowledge and experience in mental health therapeutic processes and counseling techniques. Behavioral Health Provider experience preferred.
Education - Master of Social Work (Required), Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Training - Working knowledge of evidence-based psychosocial treatments and brief behavioral interventions for common mental health disorders (e.g. motivational interviewing, problem-solving treatment, behavioral activation) and knowledge of integrative care.
