Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a home-based student in both home and school settings. When not supporting the assigned student, you will assist students at a local elementary school. Candidates with experience working with children with behavioral needs or special education are encouraged to apply. BCBA certification is not required.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one behavioral and academic support in home and school environments.
Implement behavior intervention strategies under the guidance of the educational team.
Encourage positive behavior, social skills, and classroom engagement.
Assist students with daily learning activities and classroom routines.
Document student progress and behavioral observations.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and families.
Support behavior management while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
Follow school policies, confidentiality standards, and safety procedures.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with behavioral challenges or special education needs.
Behavioral training or hands-on experience implementing behavior support strategies.
Experience in a school, special education, childcare, or related setting preferred.
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel between the student's home and school.
Dependable, compassionate, and committed to student success.
BCBA or RBT certification is NOT required. Candidates without these licenses are welcome to apply if they have relevant behavioral experience.
