About the Position

Pacific Oaks College is seeking qualified Adjunct Professors to teach in the Marriage & Family Therapy Department. Adjunct faculty are eligible to teach across all MFT programs: Traditional, Trauma, Latinx, African American, and LGBTQIA+ tracks. Faculty are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering student engagement, and supporting success in alignment with Pacific Oaks' mission and values.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to culturally centered pedagogy, anti-bias teaching practices, and inclusive excellence, ensuring that our diverse student body is supported in meaningful ways.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver graduate-level Marriage & Family Therapy instruction using Canvas LMS and established course materials.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and assess student learning and progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support diverse adult learners and non-traditional student populations.
  • Communicate regularly with students through email, LMS, and Zoom to maintain engagement.
  • Foster an inclusive, anti-oppressive, and equitable learning environment.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and faculty on ongoing course and curriculum improvements.
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings at least once per term while teaching.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Teaching or professional practice experience in the subject area.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Active licensure (LMFT or equivalent).
  • Experience with Canvas or other LMS platforms.
  • Published research, presentations, or professional contributions.

Flex: This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to choose their work location based on role requirements and team needs.

Anticipated Salary

$25.00 to $28.00 per hour
