Job description

SBA Tennis & Pickleball is hiring an enthusiastic part-time cricket coach to lead an after-school cricket program for elementary-school students.

The program will introduce younger students to cricket through age-appropriate instruction, skill-building activities and fun games. We are looking for someone with cricket experience who is dependable, encouraging and confident managing a group of children.

Schedule

  • One or more weekday afternoons
  • Classes begin between approximately 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM, depending on the school
  • Classes are generally one hour long
  • Additional time may be required for setup, attendance and student dismissal
  • Additional assignments may become available

Compensation

  • $60–$100 per class assignment
  • Compensation depends on the assignment, class length, experience and responsibilities
  • Paid weekly

Responsibilities

  • Attend required training or shadowing before starting
  • Introduce students to batting, bowling, fielding and basic cricket rules
  • Lead age-appropriate drills, activities and games
  • Teach classes of approximately 4–12 elementary-school students
  • Adapt instruction for younger and beginner-level players
  • Maintain a positive, active and safe learning environment
  • Transport, set up and organize equipment
  • Take attendance and supervise student dismissal
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and parents
  • Follow SBA and school safety requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Cricket playing, coaching or instructional experience
  • Comfortable working with elementary-school-aged children
  • Friendly, energetic, patient and encouraging personality
  • Able to explain cricket skills clearly to beginners

  • Reliable transportation to the school location
  • Able to transport equipment when required
