Job description

The Taproom Host is responsible for providing an amazing first impression to each guest as they enter Big Grove. This is achieved through what we call Relentless Hospitality and our hospitality standards. Our Hosts should have strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. As a standard, Front of House new hires start at the taproom host position as it is the starting point to learn the operations of the front.. Opportunities for other Front of House positions form from there and are based on core values, work ethic and KSAs.

Essential Functions

  1. Hosts are the first point of contact for guests into Big Grove and shape the customer’s entire experience. . Customers must be greeted warmly and enthusiastically.

  3. Manage the taprooms seating plan efficiently to even the flow of service and optimize table turnover, all while taking guests comfort and preference into account.

  4. Keep host stand and adjacent areas clean, tidy & organized

  5. Restock to-go beer and assist in the merchandise store as needed

  6. Thank every guest as they depart for visiting us.

  7. Answer phone calls, and answer customer questions, and take call-ahead or reservation requests.

  8. Utilize Toast Tables software to initiate and maintain waitlists. Provide guests accurate wait times.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hospitality/ brewery environment. This role routinely uses cleaning supplies and point of sale terminal systems.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full time and Part time positions may be available. Hours of work/ days may vary from week to week. Schedules will be posted 2 weeks prior to allow time for employee’s to be informed of work requirements. The business is open 7 days a week during many different parts of the day. Evening and weekends are a key requirement.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  2. 1 year of related experience preferred but we will train people who embody our core values

  3. Must be pumped up and excited about providing the Big Grove experience to our guests!
