Caviness Beef Packers has been family owned and operated for over 60 Years and is currently led by 2nd and 3rd generation family members. Since 1962, Caviness has remained one of the most relationship-oriented companies in the beef industry. The business has grown from harvesting a handful of cattle, in the early days, to 2900 head processed each day. Today, the company operates two processing locations and markets products worldwide.Overview

There are a variety of roles within this title such as Mechanics of different skill levels, Mechanic assistants, and Electricians. Maintenance and Electronic/electrical workers responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining and ensuring that the facility and it's equipment are running efficiently.


While performing the duties the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. The employee must work with chemicals and solvents and have the ability to operate moving vehicles. Positions require standing or walking the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility. (Not an all-inclusive list)

Responsibilities
  • May operate heavy machinery
  • Use a variety of tools in order to repair, retrieve and maintain all equipment in working order
  • Conduct daily set-up of area and troubleshoot
  • Working around or with machinery and power sources such as electricity
  • Ensuring safety, food safety, and quality
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
Qualifications
  • Previous Maintenance experience required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Knowledge of basic tools and maintenance related subjects
  • Willingness to participate on various teams such as HAZMAT
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Must be able to work hours of 2:00pm to 12:00am, Monday through Friday and some Saturday's
