Job description

Bednark Studio is seeking a dedicated and experienced CNC Programmer.
The schedule for this role is Tuesday - Saturday.
In this role, their primary focus is to receive technical drawings, cut files and establish task priorities according to the production schedule and Department goals. Working collaboratively with their colleagues, our Programmer ensures that the assigned work is completed safely and efficiently. They excel in handling unexpected challenges that may arise during the production process, using their problem-solving skills to navigate any hurdles.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Receives, reviews, and builds from technical drawings & reports back to the Lead Programmer and/or Department Manager with questions, comments, concerns.
  • Manages, tracks, and plans  tasks according to the production schedule.
  • Masters all CNC shop operations on machines, equipment, and electric and pneumatic tools.
  • Gathers and tracks all required tools, equipment, and hardware for the projects.
  • Exhibits strong knowledge of wood, metal, and plastic-based engineered sheet goods in addition to router bits.
  • Proficient in CNC operating, programming, nesting, scaling, tooling, modifying cut files in CAD or VCarvePro, and joining techniques.
  • Proficient in CNC machines mechanicals, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
  • Trains on all CNC Department machines, equipment and tools.
  • Performs at a high level of craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and resourcefulness.
  • Demonstrates keen attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Consults with CNC Department Manager, Lead Programmer and/or Draftsperson on engineering and the best-build practices.
  • Forecasts and communicates completion timelines of build elements for a given project(s).
  • Ensures the cut list is complete and up to Bednark Standards before passing off to the next step in production.

Position Requirements:
  • 2-3 Years CNC Programming experience.
  • 2-5 Years CNC Operator experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in VCarve Pro or Enroute.
  • 1 or more years experience with Plastic, Wood and other sheet goods.
  • 2 or more years experience maintaining, fixing, and operating 3-axis flat bed CNCs.
  • 2 or more years experience managing CNC workflow.
  • Must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday.
