Position summary
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of our beauty supply store, including sales performance, staff management, merchandising, and customer service. This person ensures the store is well-run, meets sales and profit goals, and delivers an excellent shopping experience for beauty and hair-care customers. Prior retail management experience is required, and beauty-supply or cosmetics experience is strongly preferred.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead, train, schedule, and coach store associates to deliver outstanding customer service and product knowledge.
  • Drive sales by managing KPIs (sales, UPT, conversion, average ticket) and creating action plans to improve results.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, bank deposits, and daily/weekly store paperwork.
  • Maintain merchandising standards: stocking, planograms, visual displays, promotional setups, and signage.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, receiving, transfers, and loss-prevention practices.
  • Handle customer issues and returns professionally, turning problems into positive experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment in line with company standards and health/safety rules.
  • Partner with ownership on local marketing activities, promotions, and events to attract new customers.
  • Recruit, interview, and help hire store staff; provide ongoing feedback, performance reviews, and corrective actions when needed.
  • Monitor expenses and payroll to meet budget while ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.

Required qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of retail management experience (assistant manager or manager), preferably in beauty supply, cosmetics, hair, or similar specialty retail.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and hold staff accountable to goals and standards.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
  • Comfortable working with POS systems, basic Excel/Google Sheets, and email for reporting and communication.
  • Ability to stand, move, and lift boxes of product as needed during a full shift.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and peak seasons.

Preferred qualifications
  • Product knowledge in beauty, hair, wigs, extensions, and/or ethnic hair-care brands.
  • Experience with inventory management, loss-prevention programs, or physical inventory counts.
  • Experience opening a new store or improving performance at an underperforming location.
