Job description

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric and critical care services.

In March 2012, the Cotton Family Birth Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital was designated a Baby-Friendly® birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning, technological advancements and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches.

Scope of work

Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy under the direction of the Hyperbaric Technical Director, physician, and technologists. Performs duties under the physiologic stresses of the hyperbaric environment. The technician monitors patients before, during and after hyperbaric therapy, and is responsible for the safe operation of the hyperbaric chamber. Assists in the delivery of patient care.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Must be a registered Paramedic, EMT, Respiratory Therapist, Military Corpsman, or other allied health professional as indicated by the NBDHMT.
  • Required Board Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 0-3 years' experience. Required

Certification, Licensure, Registration:

  • LIC-Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required Or
  • LIC-Paramedic License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required Or
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire Required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire Required Or
  • CRT-Hyperbaric Technologist, Certified (CHT) - NBDHMT National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology Upon Hire Preferred
